Swiha Charity gave Iftar food relief to the Muslim community in Busaana district during the Holy month of Ramadhan 2021. The food aid was a timely intervention as the country was going through the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.
The food relief was a donation received from the Parliament of Uganda. Each of the supproted Muslim households received a package with rice, maize flour, cooking oil, wheat flour, salt, soap and sugar which was to sustain them through their fasting period.
Despite the fact that Busaana district was a hard to reach area during the rainy season, our team of volunteers managed to make it and was also able to hold prayers with the Muslim family at Busaana mosque.
We weren’t able to hold a health camp in the area as envisaged earlier because of financial constraints however, we plan to hold it whenever the resources are realised.
